Deborah has experience working with adolescents and adults. She specializes in crisis counseling, adult ADHD, anxiety, PTSD, depression, and bipolar. She has experience working in a variety of setting, including psychiatric hospitals, mental health clinics, and community mental health agencies. She values working with clients of all backgrounds and identities.
Deborah Howell, LMSW, engages patients in a client-centered approach that is done with the whole person in mind. This process can often involve recognizing patterns that are no longer helpful and uncovering beliefs that interfere with well-being. She recognizes that every individual is unique and that their experiences hold the key to personal growth and development. Common techniques used are Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy.
Deborah Howell trained as a social worker and psychotherapist at the University of MI for her Masters. Prior to that she earned a bachelors degree in psychology at Western Michigan University.
